Do You Believe It?
If you have received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, repeat after me, "I am a child of God, absolutely loved, and totally acceptable in His sight."
I think that is the biggest part of growing in Christ is being able to wrap our hearts around this truth. Learning all the ramifications of this can take a lifetime. I struggled with this for some time. I had God pictured as an angry old man just waiting to whack me if I got out of line. I was reading a Christian book about forgiveness one day and God spoke to my heart. I knew right then that He loved me and accepted me. I am righteous, accepted, holy, and free from all condemnation; not because of any thing good in me, but because of what Jesus did on the cross and in my heart. Sometimes Satan tries to convince me otherwise and for a while I wallow in those feelings of condemnation, but I don't stay there. I allow the Holy Spirit, through the reading of His Word, to renew my mind with Truth. And by faith I rest there.
